About

Find the watch you're really looking for.

ChronoMatch started from a familiar frustration. You fall for a watch — the shape, the dial, the way it wears — but the price, the waitlist, or the bracelet isn't right. You spend hours on forums and retailer sites trying to find something that captures the same feeling. Most of the time you come up empty.

We built ChronoMatch to solve that. Search any watch and we'll show you the closest alternatives across every price tier — watches that share the same case shape, dial character, movement type, and aesthetic DNA, not just a similar price tag. The engine considers over 20 attributes per watch and scores them against a database of more than 10,000 references.

Beyond search, ChronoMatch is a tool for collectors. Track the watches you own, want, or are watching the market on. Set price alerts and we'll notify you when a reference moves. Log your service history so you never miss a maintenance window.

How the matching works

Every watch in our database is mapped across five clusters: aesthetics (case shape, bezel, dial, hands), size, function (movement, complication, water resistance), build (materials, crystal, bracelet), and prestige (brand tier, style). Each attribute is weighted by how much it actually matters to a collector's eye.

Hard filters ensure the results make sense — dial colour must match, a chronograph only matches other chronographs, a rectangular case never appears for a round one. Soft filters keep niche categories coherent: dive watches stay with dive watches, dress watches with dress watches, when there are enough alternatives to do so.

The result is a similarity score between 0 and 1. Results above 0.50 are shown, ranked by how closely they match your source watch. You can also filter by priority — budget, aesthetics, specs, or prestige — to surface the alternatives most relevant to what you're optimising for.

The database

We currently cover over 10,000 references across hundreds of brands — from entry-level automatics to independent horology. New releases are tracked weekly. Prices are updated monthly from authorised retailers and the secondary market.

If a watch you're looking for isn't in our database yet, you can request it directly from the search results. We review all requests and prioritise additions based on demand.
